The task which you have undertaken is one that is timely and very worthwhile. For this, you are to be commended. You have shown that you have a great concern for the quality of life which we all have enjoyed in this great town of Portsmouth, at town of which I am a proud son.

At a time when greed and selfishness are threatening to erode the very fabric of society, you are devoting your precious time and efforts to make Portsmouth the best place it can be for not only those who live there, but for those who find it a fitting refuge upon frequent visits.

The people of Portsmouth should be proud to have such a dedicated group of individuals who find it necessary to go beyond self, and to try to assist the police in making the town a safer place in which to live.

Your group deserves no less than the full cooperation of the citizens of Portsmouth.
